Prison Law Announcement: Prison Disciplinary Book Update

Professor Daniel Manville is in the process of updating his Disciplinary Self-Help Litigation Manual, which was last published in 2007.  The Prison Law Blog views the 2007 edition of Professor Manville’s Disciplinary Self-Help Litigation Manual as extremely informative and useful in that the book provides vital information concerning prison disciplinary proceedings in every state prison system, along with the prison disciplinary process in the Federal Bureau of Prisons.  The book truly does fulfill its aim of helping guide prisoners through the prison disciplinary and disciplinary litigation processes.

In order to most effectively update the book, Professor Manville needs your help.  Send Professor Manville any case law and opinions from state courts that affect the prison disciplinary and prison disciplinary litigation processes.  These can be your own cases or cases in which you’ve been able to obtain copies of the decisions.  Both published and unpublished case law and decisions are appreciated.

If you have any such information concerning decisions in state courts, you are asked to send a copy of the information to Professor Manville at:

(Please do not send summaries, memos, or requests for representation.  Only send state decisions and opinions concerning prison disciplinary proceedings.)
