How to Send Money

Federal inmates at FCC Victorville cannot receive funds from friends or family members directly. However, there are a few different ways to send funds to an inmate.

Perhaps the most common method is via Western Union or Money Gram. These companies have locations in most communities and offer quick and easy money transfers. Unfortunately, families and friends are charged fees for these services.

Another way to send money to an inmate is through the National Lockbox. This is a service offered by the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Des Moines, Iowa. There is no fee to use the National Lockbox, but it can take up to two or three days for the money to reach the inmate.

When sending money to an inmate, it is vital to include their full name, identification number, and address of the prison facility. Transactions are processed quickly and without any issues with this information.

FCI Victorville Medium 2 Prison Culture Information

Prison Politics at Federal Correctional Institution Victorville Medium 2

This is a very political yard where inmates are required to be part of a racially-oriented car to stay. According to one inmate, “A car is required for personal safety.”

Level of Violence

There is a significant level of violence at FCI Victorville Medium II prison. One respondent said, “Fights are regular, and stabbings are not uncommon.”

Vulnerable Populations

Sex offenders, informants, and LGBT inmates cannot walk the yard. According to one inmate, “If you are one of these sorts, you will be run-off and perhaps receive a boot party. If you make it and fly under the radar, staff will print off your PSR and hand it to your unit racial shot caller. Staff actively put these populations in harm’s way.”

Good at FCI Victorville Medium 2

“Great vocational training.” “Not much.”

Bad at FCI Victorville Medium II

“Politics and violence.” “Staff force sex offenders to walk the yard until they are checked in. Merely asking to be placed in protective custody when you first get there won’t stop this. The lieutenants actively try to get sex offenders killed.”

“LGBT inmates who do manage to stay belong to somebody. They are effectively their property and must do as they are told. Communal sexual violence is common in such unwilful agreements.”

Other Inmate Comments

“If you are LGBT or a sex offender, this is not the yard for you to be on. This is a notably violent, political yard. Stay away.”

“The guards are just as bad as the inmates when it comes to politics. Don’t trust them. If you have dirty paperwork, they will try to get you maimed.”
