FCC Coleman Prisoner Killed by Fellow Inmate

On September 26, 2013, Boyd Wallace Higginbotham, Jr. was sentenced to life in prison for the May 2008 stabbing death of fellow prisoner Steven Pritchard in the mess hall at FCC Coleman in Sumter County, Florida.  A federal jury found Higginbotham guilty of first-degree murder.  The federal prisoners had been involved in an argument that escalated over several days until Higginbotham grabbed Pritchard around the neck and repeatedly stabbed him.
